Everyday Matte Brown Eye and Vampy Lip Tutorial

I never wear the same makeup two days in a row but I do have two or three go to looks I’m using on a fairly regular basis. One of them is a matte brown eye. It’s perfectly acceptable for work and it can be glammed up, or quickly turned into a smokey eye, if you want to go out. This is how I create one of my go to looks.

This is before any makeup at all and directly after getting out of the shower.

Lately my nose has been greasy so I’ve been using the Wayne Goth Method of applying foundation. It is simply powder before foundation. I didn’t use primer today and applied Your Minerals Sweden Translucent Powder directly onto my skin. I then brushed on my  Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Porcelain. I cover my entire face and neck with both of these.

Next I cover up my undereyes using the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer. I blend it in with a beauty sponge and then use the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer to cover up a few spots and to highlight my nose and cuspids bow. Again blending with the aping. I finish this part of my face by setting everything with Physician’s Formula  Mineral Correcting Powder.

After applyiing foundation and concealer .

Next I fill in my brows. I’ve been using the Chella Brow Pencil in Taupe since it came in my Boxycharm and have really been liking it. It definitely has a more natural feel than the powder I had been using. I use a spooley to even everything out and finish with my Chella Brow Setting Gel.

I did all of my eyes with the Stila Eyes Are The Window Mind palette but before I started by priming with Wet N Wild Fergie Eye Primer. After I did that I put Perception all through my create and part way up my brow bone. I love an orangey, warm transition color so I definitely didn’t hold back and packed the color on.

Next I put Wit all over my lid.

After that I used a stiff pointed crease brush to put Creativity in the outer corner of my eyes and through the crease then used a couple different blending brushes to blend everything together.

To finish my eyes I use a small brush to add Brilliance to my brow bone to highlight under the brow.

I completed my eye look using Colourpop Eyeliner in No Shame, curl my lashes, and out on Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

I used Revlon’s Powder Blush in Classy Coral to do my blush. I’ve always put my blush on my cheek bones to accent them. My puffy cheeks look pudgier if I put it on my apples. Maybe this is wrong, maybe not, but it’s one thing my Mama taught me that I listen to. I used Looxi Beauty’s Aurora Highlighter in Pandora on my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow, and tear ducts.

Finally I put on my lipstick. Today I used Colourpop’s Ultra Satin Lipstick in Toolips because I wanted a little more character on my lips but if I were working today I probably would have done a nude or soft pink. I finish everything off with Urban Decay Setting Spray.

Before and after with and without flash.
