I’ve never done a favorites before so this is exciting for me. Part of the reason I haven’t is because I feel like I have a lot of the same favorites month to month but I’ve been trying to branch out more. I’m not saying I’m not going to mention a million different Colourpop items, because I just can’t control my love for them and it seems like they’re coming out with new things constantly, but I’m going to try to get other things I’ve been trying and using a lot in there too. So let’s jump in!
Colourpop Highlighter in Wisp $8
Yup. I’m just going to get the Colourpop products all out of the way first since I have a few. Anyway, this highlighter!! It is hands down one of my favorite Colourpop products. The pigmentation is awesome, as usual, and the color is gorgeous. It’s a beautiful, golden shimmer. It’s a cream base and really simple to apply. I actual use my fingers rather than a brush, like most Colourpop products. It is so, so creamy and just glides right on. The longevity is also amazing. I can apply this in the morning and it is still on late at night. I just can not get enough of this. To the point where I just picked up another highlighter from Colourpop to see if I like it as much.
Colourpop Supershock Shadow in Hustle $5
Yup. More Colourpop. It’s a legitimate addiction.
Anyway this is one of my favorite shadow colors and a great fall color. It’s a nice maroon, purple, matte shade. On a quick makeup day I’ll just toss this all over my life then toss a gold shade in the inner corner. It’s also a great color to bring out the green in my eyes. Also you don’t need an eye primer for these shadows. They already have great pigmentation and will last all day without one. Again, I use my finger to apply these.
Colourpop Lippie Stix in Ellarie $5
This is the last one, I swear! I did a review on the kipper stix way back and wasn’t sure if this one feathered because of the finish, color, or lack of lip liner. Come to find out it was just me! I was still pretty new to lipstick and I’ve found now that I’ve worn more I can apply this without much of an issue as long as I’m patient. I absolutely am in love with this color for fall. It’s a gorgeous, dark brick red. It’s just beautiful. Especially with a naked eye, or if you want to spice it up some gold on the eyes. And the longevity!!! Oh my god. I wore this out to a bachelorette party and even though I was drinking I only needed to reapply once! Once! While drinking! I don’t know what they do to make such great quality products at such a low price but I am so on board with it.
I actually received this in my Love Palette but I find myself constantly reaching for it, especially for my tightline and water line. It’s a nice, dark black. It goes on really easy and lasts all day. It’s also a true waterproof liner. I need to use my makeup remover to get it off, and even then there is still some left behind. It also smudges out really well if you are looking to do a smokey eye. I love myself a standard black waterproof liner!
ELF Flawless Finish Foundation in Sand $6
This is my go to every day foundation and has been for awhile. It lasts long enough to be perfect for a day or work or shopping. Typically I reach for something a little more highend when going out for the night. Anyway, it also has great coverage. It is one of the better foundations when it comes to covering my undereye circles and acne, though that isn’t as much of an issue with my skin. I also like the semi-matte finish. I can use powder to make it more matte if I want or leave as is if I’m going for something a little more dewy. It also blends out really nicely. I thought sand was going to be a little dark for my skin but it works really well once it’s blended out. I didn’t blend it out completely in the photos so you could get a better idea of what it looks like.
Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette $20
I really like Coastal Scents and of their 3 Revealed Palettes Revealed 2 is my favorite. I had kind of gotten away from using any of them but now that it’s fall I’ve found myself reaching for this pretty regularly. I also love shadow #1 as my brow highlight. I reach for that over any of my other shadows, even when I find new ones I think I’m going to love. I also love a combination of the colors selected, especially with #7 in the inner corner. The 7 I listed are the ones I’m consistently using lately. I love the purples for fall but especially to bring out my eyes. The green eyes just love purple shadows!!
The last October favorite is not makeup related but more food/drink/lifestyle.
Colored Del Sol Malbec
I won’t lie, I’m a beer girl. I drink microbrews and when it comes to wine I drink White Zinfandel, so I know nothing (John Snow.) I asked a friend what to try to start getting into real wines and this was what she suggested. It definitely has that salty, red taste but not like others I’ve sipped. It’s fruity enough to keep me intrigued, yet it has a smokey taste to it. Almost like cigarettes?? I don’t know. I have no fucking idea what I’m talking about. All I know is that I like it a lot and I this has been my go to wine when I put Baby Butt down for the the night and know I have time to kill before nursing. Thank god for S and him feeding Butt his bottle of breast milk. It gives me much more leeway to have glass, especially now that he’s pretty much sleeping through the night. But that is a story for another time.
