My sister-in-law introduced me to this new subscription box for pregnant women. Each month they send you a box based on where you are in your pregnancy and you can get it up to a year after giving birth. It is $40 for a monthly subscription, $110 for every 3 months, and $210 for 6 months. I did the 3 month subscription figuring if I don’t like it I will cancel after that. It is a bit pricey but they really packed the products into this first box and for me they aren’t things I will be able to get my hands on easily where I live. They would definitely be online purchases. If anyone is interested in checking it out or joining you can do so here.
My box was for month 3, which is what I am in and will (hopefully) be out of next Saturday! It’s crazy how fast this is going so far. Anyway, lets move onto the box!
I’m a pretty big fan of Doctor Bronner’s Castile soap in Peppermint so I was definitely excited to try this, though the sample size is tiny. I like the castile soaps for shaving my legs. They lather up really well. Unfortunately this wasn’t large enough to test leg shaving with so I tried it on my face. It has a very distinct castile soap smell. I can’t explain it to you if you haven’t ever smelled one. It almost smells… idk dry? Anyway, the tropical scent definitely didn’t come through. I was also hoping it would be a bit more moisturizing with the argan oil in it, but alas that wasn’t to be either. It definitely dried my face right up, something I did not need right now. My pregnancy has been drying my face up plenty without anything added to it. All and all this was an eh product for me. I’m going to give it a 1 out of 5. I definitely won’t be running out to buy a full bottle.

I haven’t tried this yet so I’m not sure how well it works. I already have plenty of soap and there is no need to open a new one at the moment. I love natural soaps though and am excited to try a foaming one. I did open it to smell it and it smells heavenly. It’s nice and sweet and doesn’t smell soapy at all, so that’s a big plus. I am super excited for my hand soap to run out so I can put this in my bathroom!
I already have the Preggie Pop Drops thanks to my bff who sent them in a care package from Alaska (along with some awesome kids books, a knit hat for me, and adorable little grey and yellow hand knit baby booties!) I love the drops. They come in sour flavors (I am a sour addict) and definitely helped me during week 10 when my morning sickness was at it’s worst so I was excited to try these. Same idea as the pops but with more flavors. I don’t think they cure morning sickness but if you have a mild form of it like I did then they are perfect to help ease it. I would definitely recommend both of these. 4 out of 5 stars
I love Tom’s of Maine natural toothpaste so I am also excited to try this. Again, I have toothpaste open right now so I haven’t tried it and won’t until our current paste is gone. On the other hand I’m pretty sure S. is going to be all “what the fuck is this?” when I open a natural toothpaste. Oh well.
I’ve never used a natural shaving foam/gel before so I figured this could be interesting. It smells horrible. It again has that natural, dry type smell that comes with organic/natural soap products. It didn’t stick to my legs well and it dried them out. I wasn’t huge on this either. I’ll keep it and probably use it as a soap but not a shaving foam. I would say this is a 2 out of 5.
This is a small aromatherapy candle tin. I haven’t tried bee’s wax candles but they seem pretty ordinary. More like soy candles than your regular wax. I don’t really smell lavender or peppermint in the candle, just the beeswax. Whatever, it’s still nice. I’m keeping it in the bathroom because it is too small to make a difference in any other room. All and all I would probably get one of these in a bigger size but I would want to be able to smell them first to see if there was a particular scent I liked more. The Orange and Clove sounds delicious! 3 out of 5.
I’ve used an organic deodorant before and hated it because it actually did nothing. This one smells magnificent and, again, even though I haven’t tried it yet because I currently have a deodorant, I’m excited to try it. I’ve used a Nourish Organic Almond soap before that I absolutely loved, even though I had to stop using it because I was allergic to the almond, so I’m excited to try this as well. I have a good feeling about this deodorant, and would love to switch to a more organic one if I could find one that works well.
All and all the box wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t wonderful either. I liked the idea of the all natural products, even if I didn’t love all of them. I also like the amount of stuff they put in the box. Also everything was full sized, with the exception of the argan oil soap. I am excited to see what my next two boxes are like in comparison. I was wondering what they would send me for month three. The preggy pops definitely make sense, the other stuff just seems like filler, but that is fine with me. I am curious to see what correlations they make between the other months as well. For now though I think it was worth it, though a few things weren’t my style.
